GROM-MST3 is a simple way to integrate USB / Bluetooth / Smart phone / iPod / Aux-In into your factory fitted car stereo system. These high-end cars use a fibre optic system (called M.O.S.T bus) for communication between devices in the car.
The GROM-MST3 Full edition is a modular system allowing you to select only the cable connectivity options that suits your needs. Comes with USB connectivity as standard with two mini-din ports for expansion. Connect an iPod or iPhone, a Bluetooth dongle, a Samsung Galaxy S and S II or allow an Aux input (these add-ons are purchased separately and detailed below).
USB Connection: GROM-MST3 car stereo adapter connects your USB 2.0 device such as flash drive, external hard drive or mass storage device to the stereo in your car so you can listen to your digital music library and control the playback through your car stereo controls. Please note that the USB port does NOT support iPod.
Operation is simple:
As a protocol converter the MST3 interface will translate your stereo/steering wheels button presses into commands your connected device understands, so you can navigate folders or playlists, change tracks that are streaming wirelessly, answer/reject/end a call or simply listen to your digital music that is piped in directly giving excellent sound quality!
Now you can:
Listen to your favourite music directly from a USB stick without the need for an MP3 player.
Change tracks, browse your music files, map them to the disc buttons all via your stereo or steering wheel controls.
See album, artist and track names.

Grom MST3 interface has two extension ports for any combination of these optional accessories:
iPod / iPhone cable for connection of Apple devices, gives the same functionality as Grom iPod kits. Standard and extra long length cables available.
Converts your iPod/iPhone into a virtual CD changer.
Disc 1 allows you to control the iPod from its clicking wheel.
Disc 2-6 mapped to playlists you create in iTunes.
Stereo will fully control iPod. MIX, REPEAT work as usual SCAN allows you to skip +-10 tracks for faster navigation.
The following information is displayed: Disc #, Track #, time. Most capable stereo's also show track names.
Playlist positions are preserved for interruption free playback.
Charge iPod/iPhone while connected.
Bluetooth Dongle and Microphone for hands free calling and music streaming.
In hands free mode you are able to: accept call, reject call, end call, adjust microphone gain and audio volume via your car stereo and steering wheel controls (HFP).

Samsung Galaxy S and S II play and charge cable
If you have a Samsung Galaxy S or S II you can now play and charge it in the car using GROM SG1 cable. The cable has mini-din on one side and Micro USB on the other side.
Aux-line-in & USB charge cable for injecting any audio source directly into the cars audio system with an additional female USB connector allowing you to charge your device.

Factory CD will have to be disabled to use the GROM-MST3.
Important: In some cases if device is recognized and works properly but only for few seconds you will need to visit your dealer and apply MOST Security OFF patch. This patch can be removed by the authorized dealer only. This patch will allow third party integration devices to work properly with your factory stereo. Currently there is no workaround been found besides visiting the dealer.
